He spoke this words in the House of Commons in 1947 November 11.Democracy is among the best form of government in todayà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s era, many nations in the world have adopted this form of government because of some attributes relating to it. Democracy being the best form of government means that it has the most advantages compared to other forms, but this fact does not imply that democracy is perfect, no; as any other forms of government, it has its shortcomings (Churchill, 1956). Winston Churchillà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s quote implies that democracy compared to the other forms of government but practicing democracy is still as hectic and bothersome just like the other forms, but because democracy is practiced by most countries it is the worst form.The following factors make democracy the best form of government, freedom: countries that embrace democracy nearly always have freer people than autocratic states, they have the right to vote therefore deciding on the policy of their country. Representing the people- democracy being a government by the people for the people. The government represents the views of the citizens and if the citizens are not satisfied can change the government (Cannadine Quinault, 2004). There is better governance due to transparency because democracy is much about checks and balances. There is respect and protection of human rights and economic growth of countries that embraced democracy is increasing at good rates compared to other forms, the richest nations in the world are democracies by default.The following are shortcomings of democracy. Democracy bases on quantity than quality; this means that as long as a part y has the numbers it will hold the reins of government no matter how inefficient or corrupt the politicians are the find themselves elected. Incompetent persons lead most democratic nations; the result is that countries led by these people becomes unfit for intellectual progress and search for scientific truths. The concept of equality is enshrined in democracy, this implies that democracy is against the law of nature because no individual has the same talents, skills and abilities hence it defies the law of nature by granting everybody equal s tatus (Churchill, 1956).
